Asha has visible paw prints of hungry bears visiting her site everyday! Can I lag behind!? 😀 I have invisible paw prints of copy cats visiting my blog! Just two days back I discovered someone starting a blog with recipe copied (read as cut and paste) from my blog and menutodays blog. I left a note and she deleted the whole blog! Today first thing in the morning I got a mail from one of my regular visitors Lathabalu, saying that she found my recipe and picture of Maddur vada, in a respectable site ( I do not wish to tarnish the site for a mistake committed by a useless member). I notified to the admin of the site and they took immediate action. My request to all copycats is that please understand it takes less time and effort to prepare a dish and post than to copy from someone! It is always easy to do the right thing and be happy than to do a wrong and suffer the guilt! You can tell lies to the whole world but not to your self!
My hubby says keep two drafts ready, one mild letter and one threatening letter to post to these copy cats so that you need not spend time typing this again and again! 😀
I don’t have any ideas…how a person can feel happy/proud to steal the recipes and pictures from another blog and claiming that they are their’s 😦
It’s very bad thing ..
I think your hubby says right! Keep ready the drafts!!
Plagiarism is the worst threat to the people in any creative field which leaves them feeling helpless.I am happy that the administrators have taken the remedial action immediately. It is commendable on your part that you have restrained from taking any names.
with regards
hahaha…nice thing that they removed it immediately….nice post lathamma…and your hubby has great ideas….so pls do have them ready!
They are there all over. There are very few originals and creative people, most only copy or draw inspiration from the original. I think you should be proud that you are one of those few!!!
It is really worst of copying someother’s.
I feel very bad abt it
kamala
Great suggestion from your hubby to keep 2 letters.
What a shameful act!..
Jasu(jasmines)and saffron huts pictures and recipes are woderfully plagiarised…I found these lately ..mailed the concerned ppl..no reply…no response form Jasmine and saffron either..It is very difficult for me to keep quiet if ever catches my notice!..
Hats of to your bettr half for all his encouragements!..:)
After all behind a succesful lady there is a Man too! 😀
That’s very bad. I just mailed you about this. Check it out.
Latha,
I checked and couldn’t see it there. How many would be there in net, that we haven’t noticed yet? You know, once I tried a recipe from there and published with the “author’s” permission. Later, I did a scan, then comes the real owner of the recipe, God , I removed it soon. So the “author” cheated me and others claiming it is her own recipe. This happened during my early days of blogging, so I really “learnt” from her..:)
Uncle’s idea is good, you have to be ready always..:D
How do you know when yours is being copied? I am unaware about this though I know such things happen.
Bharathy..you are just too much…how about this….
Behind every successful woman…there is a surprised man!!!…
well same for vice versa!…hahaha….
I haven’t had the previlage of meeting laks’ dad, but I know he is not like that…its just my thought..
You are right latha, it just takes lil time and effort to make their own. Good you reacted immediately.
latha, can you email us those drafts too please??? Because I’m also seeing things like this happening to my posts, and in so-called “respectable sites” too! I disabled enhanced image search for my blog in google so I can control plagiarism to a certain extent at least!
I do love the way that you go about dealing with this, without anger but quietly asserting your rights. It is sad that it happens. I think I will try to protect myself by always inserting links in a post back to my blog. Do you think that they would take the time to remove inserted links, if they are just copying and pasting?
I am so sick of copycats and thieves – that’s what they are, don’t be afraid to say it.
Thanks horrendous Lathamma. Indeed, follow uncle advice of keeping two drafts ready, one mild letter and one threatening letter to post to these copy cats so that you need not spend time typing this again and again! :D’ These ppl must learn a lesson!

Latha It is really disgusting to see that hard works are copied and pasted just like that. They can very well ask permission. I don’t know why they hesitate to do it. Take care. Viji
D d d done with the 5 Qs and the fridge display 🙂
Two resources I use to protect my blog – Copyscape and Creative Commons licenses. Look into them, they are actually legally enforceable.
Hi Latha,
Thanks for notifying me. I was offline for sometime now that I did not notice this.
I was thinking that it was time to remove my march against plagiarism, now it seems that it has to remain there for some more time. :-
Its time for me too keep my set of 2 draft letters ready 🙂
Thanks….MenuToday..
Lathama, good u acted immediately, keep the drafts ready
Hmmm. I have just discovered the same – I was aware of some, but I have located a raft of sites publishing complete posts including pics. So sad.
[…] was going through aunty’s blog when I read this. It somewhat freaked me out. Why would people start a blog and then go around hunting for articles […]
Indozone net copied my Khadwi photo too! After 2 mails to the administrator which took a month, they took it off. It is disgusting how they just lift and paste as thier own without any shame at all!
Anyway, I sent you my entry for dry fruit, hope you got it!:)

I am sorry people are copying your work, but my personal take is, it is OK. After all it is food. I don’t feel offended when people copy my work. When I leave this earth I am not taking my blog with me.. That is certain:)
